Code Blauw

Code Blauw

G.S.Z.V. De Golfbreker is a student swimming club where fun is paramount, and an open atmosphere prevails. It is an important fact that nothing is required at De Golfbreker; everything is free of obligation. To ensure this, among other things, the Royal Dutch Swimming Association (KNZB) established Code Blauw (Code Blue).

Code Blue is committed to a sporty and safe swimming climate. The intention is that everyone can interact positively with each other, both inside and outside the pool. Code Blue stands for: respect, sportsmanship, safety, and fun.

At De Golfbreker, we find it extremely important to be able to swim, party and go to activities as fun and safe as possible.

1.  Code of Conduct

To ensure all this, various documents have been drawn up within the association that all members must adhere to. The Code of Conduct is the most important in this. It describes exactly what is and what is not tolerated within the association.

2. Confidential Contact Person

Potential problems can always be raised with the board. If this is not an option, or if you prefer to discuss matters anonymously with someone, there are several options. A confidential contact person has been appointed within the association that you can contact at any time. If you prefer to talk outside the association, the ACLO and KNZB also have people you can turn to. Finally, there is the possibility to seek for contact through various methods on the website of Centrum Veilig Sport Nederland (Centrum for safe sport Netherlands) (CVSN). Below are all links to the different options.

2.1 Confidential Contact Person G.S.Z.V. De Golfbreker

Hi dear Golfbrekers!

My name is Linne Boerma. I've been swimming almost my whole life, and I've been a member of De Golfbreker for five years now. In my first year, I was part of the Travel Committee and got to help organize a fun trip. In the second year, I joined the Sponsor Committee. In the third year, I was chair of the Travel Committee, and we organized two amazing trips. Finally, I was also a member of the NSZK Committee!
I’ve really enjoyed attending almost all of De Golfbreker’s activities and have met so many great people here (still do 😉).

In the meantime, I’ve graduated and have been working for a while now as a sociotherapist at the Van Mesdag Forensic Psychiatric Centre.
After serving as a confidential contact person for four years, I’ll be continuing in this role for a fifth year. I really value being there for you when needed.
If there’s something on your mind or you simply want to talk, feel free to contact me!

"Dear Golfbrekers,

Thank you for the trust that I can take over from Frank and be VCP at the Golfbreker alongside Linne. Therefore, here’s a little introduction about the role and myself. I believe it’s important that there’s a pleasant, open atmosphere within the association, where everyone can develop in their own way. If something is going on or if things aren’t going as smoothly as you’d like, you can always turn to Linne or me for a listening ear. I grew up on a dairy farm in Oldehove, a small village in the province of Groningen. After living in various places, I settled in another small village in Groningen called Eenrum. My biggest hobby is going on adventures. For me, this means visiting friends, attending festivals, and participating in (inter-)national agricultural conferences and trade fairs. I spend weekends and holidays either playing sports with friends or traveling abroad, for example, to go hiking. As for my studies… well, it’s not the typical Groningen student story. Since October 2023, I became a member of the association under a special dispensation card (yes, I had a bit of a unique situation), because I was doing a part-time MSc in Digital Business in Amsterdam while working four days a week in the province of Groningen. Before that, I completed my bachelor’s in Agricultural Business Administration at Aeres in Dronten. The membership felt like a warm welcome right from the start, even though I wasn’t very active at the time. This past summer, I graduated and now work full-time as a project manager focused on precision agriculture at Agrifirm in Apeldoorn. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to catching up with you. And don’t forget: ‘burgers’ love association life too!"
